Non-video Demonstration 2
Let's begin by drawing some straight lines. Glass Eye 2000 gives you plenty of alignment tools that make it easy to draw lines that are perfectly horizontal, vertical, or diagonal, and arranged exactly the way you want them.
Circular arcs are just as easy. Let's add a semi-circle.
Next we add four more circular arcs.
We now need to trim away some of these arcs, which is easily done.
Now comes the fun part. We can "reflect" this design to complete the corner pattern. Imagine reflecting our pattern as if through a mirror placed along the diagonal line. Glass Eye 2000 gives you tools to make this operation easy.
By doing one more reflection (through a vertical mirror) we can complete the top part of this pattern.
We can now pick the glass colors of our choice. Of course, we can continue to work on our design even after choosing the colors for the glass. We can even change the dimensions of the design at any time, so our designs have the flexibility to be used in a variety of places.
When it's time to print your patterns, you have a variety of options: with or without color, single sheet or actual size, etc. One popular option lets you print showing both the face width and the heart thickness. Here is a detail from our pattern that shows a 3/16" face width and a 1/16" heart thickness. This can be printed at actual size and used for cutting and building.
That's only an introduction to designing with Glass Eye 2000. There are dozens of features we didn't discuss, including:
- Piece numbering
- Multi-level undo and redo
- Rulers and measurement
- State-of-the-art help system
- Alignment tools
- Glass selection
- Analysis to find design flaws
- Materials usage
- Printing
- Lamp Wizard
- AutoTrace
- and much, much more!
