How do I transfer my license to another computer?

Transferring a Standard, Professional or Professional Plus Edition

Start by installing Glass Eye 2000 on your new computer. If you have a CD then install from that, and if you have multiple CDs then use only the latest one. If you install from a CD labeled v3.0 or earlier, then after installation launch Glass Eye 2000 and choose "Do I Have the Latest Version?" from the Help menu to update to the current release. If your new computer is running Windows 8, 10 or 11 and you installed from a CD issued before 2015, run our Windows fix.

If you do not have a CD, download and install the software from our website.

Once Glass Eye 2000 is installed on your new computer, transfer your license. If both computers have internet access and you're running v3.0 or later, transfer by doing this:

  1. On the old computer, choose "Park License on Server" on the Registration menu to generate a retrieval code.
  2. On the new computer, choose "Retrieve License from Server" on the Registration menu and input your retrieval code.

If you don't have internet access on both machines or you're not yet running v3.0, you can do a manual transfer from computer A (the old computer) to computer B (the new computer):

  1. On computer B, get the reference code by using the "Enter License Key or Registration Number" command on the Registration menu. Always generate a fresh code! Do not reuse an old one, as old reference codes are invalid.
  2. On computer A, use the "Transfer License" command on the Registration menu to input the reference code from Step 1. After clicking "Next" you'll receive a license key for computer B.
  3. Return to computer B and use the "Enter License Key or Registration Number" command on the Registration menu to input the license key you were given in Step 2.

After these steps, Glass Eye 2000 will be disabled on computer A and enabled on computer B.

Transferring an Enterprise Edition

Start by installing Glass Eye 2000 on your new computer. It's preferable to install from an Enterprise version 3.3 CD if you have one. (If you have multiple CDs then use only the latest one.) If you can't install from a CD, then download and install from our website. After installation, move the dongle to the new computer and you're good to go. Note that without the Enterprise dongle this software will not run, so don't install Enterprise unless you have one.

If the program runs normally after installation, no further action is needed. If you receive an error about hardware key drivers when installing or when launching the software, you'll have to do some additional steps.
