Spectrum patterns go digital

Glass Eye 2000 has become the industry standard in stained glass design software, and we have chosen their .eye digital format for Spectrum Patterns-of-the-Month. Nearly 100 free Spectrum Patterns-of-the Month are now available as Glass Eye 2000 files. (All patterns will still be offered as PDF files.) Check it out in the Free Patterns section of the Spectrum website (www.spectrumglass.com). Glass Eye 2000 software is designed to create and work with stained glass patterns. With it you can see, in an instant, the effects of using different glass or various lead widths; you can resize designs to any dimension, add piece numbers and color codes, calculate materials needs, and much more. The capabilities are amazing. Without even going near the drawing tools, you could sit for hours just changing colors in the patterns that come included. We've been telling you how great the program is and we're hearing the same thing from folks all over who have tried it.

Just this morning a sweet voice from Utah told us how a project she'd been mulling over for four years crossed the line into reality because of Glass Eye 2000. With her trial version of the program loaded into her computer, she drew out the pattern, filled in her glass choices and printed it to scale all in about two hours. By taping it to the outside of her hexagonal window she could see exactly how it would look when finished and now had the motivation she needed to sit down and cut some glass. Of course, she changed her mind on a few of the glasses she'd selected but without wasting a scrap!

Glass Eye 2000 is available for a free 30-day trial. (Even after the trial version expires, you can continue to use the patterns included in the program as well as ones you download from our site.) The Dragonfly website (www.dfly.com) has complete information.
